Stuart Thomas

Stuart’s background is in Engineering; 8 years in the RAF as a Technician on Flight Simulators and 20 years in the Automotive industry working in R & D.

Stuart realized he was not living the life he wanted and started looking for something that would give him more fulfillment.

It was around that time Stuart came across ‘Anthony Robbins’, and became one of the first people from the UK to complete his ‘Mastery University’ (year long) program which ended with the traditional celebratory ‘Fire Walk’.

Stuart later put his new found power of ‘Positive Thinking’ into practice, when he completed the New York Marathon despite an injured knee and having never run more than 5 miles until the day of the marathon itself.

As a result, he raised £1700 for the charity ‘Whiz Kidz’!

Despite always wanting to learn to dance, Stuart didn’t start learning Salsa until he was 35 years old, going along to his first salsa class after seeing an ad in his local paper.

In spite of having no dancing background, and the handicap of being English, Stuart took to Salsa Dancing like a duck to water, and was soon a very popular dancer at his regular club (the Townhouse) in Enfield.

For Stuart salsa has truly been a life changing experience, fulfilling his life-long ambition of being in a position to teach others how to do something he loves doing himself.

When Stuart made the decision to start teaching salsa dancing, he took the plunge and went out and started his own club, calling it ’Salsa SOS’, with the intention of developing his own teaching style.

Stuart immediately developed his own 12 week Beginner Course, which was head and shoulders above anything else taught in the area; and following its success, went on to develop Teaching Programs for Improvers and Intermediates.

Stuart has spent the last 9 Years training his own dedicated team of teachers, most of whom started as Beginners with ‘Salsa SOS’, and perfecting his Teaching Programs for both New York and Cuban salsa styles.

His methods are aimed mainly at developing his students leading and following techniques, and they have proven extremely effective, with many of his top level students regularly being complimented on their leading/following skills and are all very popular to dance with wherever they go.

In 2006 Stuart met Joe Davids of ‘the Latin Collective’, and they hit it off immediately. Realizing they had a very similar approach and philosophy towards teaching. they teamed up to run Masterclass Workshops and Events together in Essex.

A picture of Stuart working as a Salsa DJStuart has also regularly taught Cuban Style Salsa & La Rueda at Scala events in Central London and has been a Guest Teacher at various other Salsa Weekend events around the UK run by other organisations such as ‘Club Cubana’ and ‘Afro Cuban‘, where he has taught everything from Cuban Rueda to New York Style Salsa ‘On 2′.

Wherever he guest teaches at events, his unique mix of ‘tongue in cheek’ humour and close attention to detail, is always well received by the workshop students.

Stuart now has a YouTube channel called ‘Salsadaddyuk’ where he posts a variety of salsa videos, and plans to develop it to become a useful learning resource for his students.

Internet Marketing

Out of a need to make use of the Internet to promote Salsa SOS, Stuart has become a bit of an expert at marketing small businesses online. As a result, he has recently ventured into the world of Internet Marketing as a consultant to Local Business owners.

Stuart started out by creating a FREE Internet marketing advice & support website called rhinostu.com along with a FREE eBook called ‘10 Steps to Internet Marketing Success for Local Businesses‘, both of which provide more than enough information to help any small business owner to succeed online.

Stuart then realized that most small business owners were so busy running their businesses, working 12-18 hours a day, that even if equipped with all the necessary knowledge they simply don’t have the time to put it into practice…

Even if they had the time, it was inefficient use of that time!

Out of this realization was born ‘GVO Local‘, an Internet marketing Consultancy service offering various levels of support tailored specifically to the individual needs of each business owner.

Stuart’s service offers everything from FREE Web Hosting (‘Rhino Hosting’) to Website design & development, and various Internet marketing services designed to make any small business the Dominant Internet presence for their business niche in any local area!

If you are interested in finding out more, click on any of the links above to visit his websites, subscribe to his FREE business newsletter and contact him via email.
